Historically, this pattern was reserved for veneers due to the complex physics of wood movement—solid wood expands and contracts with humidity, usually causing radial patterns to crack. Walnutry has solved this challenge. Our artisans utilize a proprietary stress-relief joinery system and a segmented rim construction.

We reject plastic-like lacquers that seal the wood behind a barrier. The Kurumi table is finished with a premium penetrating hardwax oil. This matte finish protects the wood from deep within while leaving the surface open to touch. It feels like wood, not plastic. Best of all, it is repairable.
