Frequently Asked Questions

Why is this shape special?

Its continuous curved crest rail cradles your shoulders rather than cutting across your back — the reason this mid-century round chair became a classic and was famously chosen to ease a president's chronic back pain.

How is it joined?

With finger joints and mortise-and-tenon where the crest rail meets the posts — joinery left partly visible as the honest mark of construction built to last generations without loosening at the arm.

What is the seat?

A woven seat set into the solid walnut frame. It is rated to 330 lb, ships fully assembled, and has felt pads under the feet to protect floors.

Where can I use it?

It suits a desk, the head of a dining table, or a bedroom or living-room accent — the upright curved back is comfortable for both working and relaxing.
