A Classic Silhouette, Honestly Built

The Tovin draws on the bentwood café chair tradition — continuous curved frames, a round cane seat, and an oval cane backrest — reinterpreted in solid American black walnut. The looping frame is warm and sculptural, with smooth, rounded profiles that catch light along every curve. Natural rattan cane is handwoven into both the seat and the oval back panel, giving the chair a lightness and breathability that solid wood alone can't offer.

Material & Construction

The frame is solid walnut throughout, finished with zero-VOC natural hard wax oil that preserves the wood's depth and grain while keeping the surface safe for daily contact. A bentwood-style ring stretcher connects the legs below the seat, adding structural rigidity without visual weight. The cane is traditional six-way handwoven rattan — resilient, slightly flexible, and comfortable for long meals or afternoon reading.
