The drawer fronts are carved into soft pillowed squares from solid American black walnut, and behind each one is an English-dovetailed drawer box — the joint that survives a lifetime of being opened overstuffed. Crucially, the case around them is solid wood too, not a particleboard carcass hidden behind nice joinery. There is no pressed board in the structure to swell or blow out.
