Walnut TV Stands

All four are walnut TV stands with storage. The difference is how much of it you want on show.

The Heritage Media Console hides everything in four drawers, with no doors and no open shelves. The Pebble puts four drawers between a door at each end; the two upper drawer fronts carry a textured tinted glass panel.

The Arden has no drawers. A wood door closes each end cabinet, a faux-rattan door covers the middle, and four upright slots hold books.

The Heritage Modular Cabinet works differently. You stack or line up separate modules, with fluted drawer fronts or smooth grey glass sliding doors.

These are cabinet widths, not TV sizes. We don't give a TV size or a weight rating for any of them. Sizes are width × depth × height:

• Heritage Media Console: 70.9, 78.7, 86.6 or 94.5 in wide (180, 200, 220 or 240 cm). 15.7 in (40 cm) deep, 10.2 in (26 cm) tall. Four drawers.
• Arden: the same four widths, 15.7 in (40 cm) deep, 17.3 in (44 cm) tall. Three doors, four open slots.
• Pebble: 70.9, 82.7 or 90.6 in wide (180, 210 or 230 cm). Slim is 15.7 in (40 cm) deep and 17.7 in (45 cm) tall; Cinema Depth is 18.0 in (45.7 cm) deep. Four drawers, two doors.
• Heritage Modular Cabinet: the Double Drawers, Glass Sliding Door and Open Shelf modules are each 31.5 × 15.7 × 17.7 in (80 × 40 × 45 cm).

The Heritage is the low one, at 10.2 in (26 cm). For matching a screen to a stand, our media console size guide walks through it.

The Pebble has cable openings in its back panel and a notch at the back of the top. The Arden has a cable hole above its open slots and a gap behind the top. Its rear bottom corner is notched to clear a skirting board, so it sits flush against the wall.

On the Modular, the back panels sit 2.0 in (5 cm) in from the rear edge. The Glass Sliding Door module also has a cable hole at the top right.

If a component needs air, the Arden's faux-rattan door lets air through and keeps dust out. If your TV wall is also a dining wall, a solid wood sideboard may suit you better.

Walnut color varies from board to board, from deep brown to lighter streaks. We finish it in hardwax oil with no paint, so the color is the wood itself. If you want a dark walnut TV stand, expect that natural range rather than one even tone.

Hardwax oil resists water but isn't waterproof. Wipe spills promptly, dust with a soft dry cloth, and put a coaster under hot or wet things.

The Heritage, Pebble and Arden sit on plinth bases, with grooves in place of metal pulls. That long line on a plinth base fits a mid century modern room. For a more modern walnut TV stand with softer edges, the Pebble has rounded corners and a raised rim.
