Originally conceived in 1949, it was stripped of all pretense, leaving only the essential: four legs, a seat, and a continuous, embracing curve. At Walnutry, our Helios Collection honors this legacy with uncompromising authenticity. We do not use veneers. We do not cut corners. We use FAS-grade North American Black Walnut to recreate a silhouette that changed the course of design history.

A Material Difference: The Soul of Black Walnut 

The Helios chair distinguishes itself through its material. We exclusively harvest Juglans nigra from the temperate forests of North America. Unlike the stained rubberwood often found in mass-market imitations, true Black Walnut possesses a deep, chocolate-to-purple hue that naturally patinas over time.

The "floating" backrest is steam-bent to curve around the torso, providing substantial lumbar support without restricting movement.
