The C-shape, carved in walnut

A cantilevered top, a curved spine, a low foot that slides under the sofa — all cut from solid American black walnut, FAS grade and FSC certified, with edges rounded to the touch. Most C-tables are metal tube and laminate; Helios is furniture.

Rolls in, locks over your lap

Hidden casters under the foot let you pull the table over a sofa seat or bed edge one-handed. The base needs just 1.6" of clearance — most legged sofas and beds qualify — and the 21.3" height puts the 17.3" × 13.8" top exactly at working level for a laptop, a sketchbook, or dinner during the good episode.

Will it slide under my sofa?

If your sofa or bed frame clears the floor by 1.6", the foot slips underneath and the top cantilevers over the seat. Plinth-base furniture that touches the floor is the one style it can't serve.

Do the casters mark floors?

They are concealed, smooth-rolling casters designed for hard floors and carpet alike. On delicate floors, a quick check with one wheel first is the sensible habit — same as any rolling furniture.

Is it sturdy enough to eat and work on?
