The Kael walnut dining chair pairs a curved one-piece back board with a black synthetic leather seat. It has no arms, so it slides under the table.
One curved board for the back
The back is a single curved board, 17.9 in wide and 4.7 in tall (455 × 120 mm). The seat tilts slightly back toward it.
Seat and foam
The seat is black synthetic leather over 1.6 in (4 cm) of high-resilience foam. It's 17.1 in (43.5 cm) wide at the front, 15.4 in (39 cm) at the back and 14.8 in (37.5 cm) deep.
Under the cushion, the seat base is solid wood. It sits 17.9 in (45.5 cm) off the floor.
Room at the table
Overall, it's 17.9 in wide, 20.7 in deep and 30.9 in tall (45.5 × 52.5 × 78.5 cm). Check the space under your tabletop before you order.
We measure by hand, so allow up to 0.8 in (2 cm) either way.
The walnut frame
The frame is solid American black walnut, and every wooden part is solid wood. It's Appalachian FAS-grade walnut, finished in hardwax oil.
The oil resists water but isn't waterproof; wipe spills promptly and dust with a soft dry cloth. Knots and color shifts are part of black walnut, not defects.
What to know first
The seat isn't genuine leather. For a top-grain leather seat, look at the Oryn.
At 14.8 in (37.5 cm), the seat is shallower than the Oryn's 19.5 in (49.5 cm). If you want a deeper seat, compare the two.
Ordering the Kael
Choose one chair, or a set of 2, 4, 6 or 8. We make each Kael to order, and it arrives fully assembled. Production takes 6 to 10 weeks, and delivery is about 10 to 18 weeks after you order.
Standard shipping is free across the contiguous United States, excluding remote areas. You have 90 days after receiving your order to request a return. Custom dimensions, custom finishes and special-order modifications are not eligible for return.
