Kurumi is a pair of walnut cloud coffee tables, one large and one lower and smaller. The large table is 49.6 × 29.1 in and 15.7 in high (126 × 74 × 40 cm). The small one is 35.4 × 20.9 in and 11.8 in high (90 × 53 × 30 cm).
Together, the small top slides partly under
When the two are pushed together, the lower small table's top slides partly under the edge of the large table's top. Apart, each works on its own.
You can buy the set, the large table alone or the small table alone.
Cloud tops on reeded legs
Both tops are cloud-shaped, with smooth, rounded corners and curves. We make them from wide walnut boards, edge-joined.
Each table stands on curved, reeded legs of solid wood, tambour-style (thin ribs set side by side). The base is open.
Low enough to sit at
At 15.7 in and 11.8 in (40 and 30 cm), you can sit cross-legged on the floor and rest your elbows on the top.
Use them apart, and one makes a low table in a bedroom. Use them together as a floor-sitting table in a study. The rounded shapes give the set a mid-century look.
Walnut, oil and everyday care
Every wooden part is solid wood, and the walnut is solid American black walnut. It's Appalachian FAS-grade walnut, finished in hardwax oil. The tables are built with mortise-and-tenon joinery.
Dust the wood with a soft dry cloth, and wipe spills promptly: the oil resists water but isn't waterproof.
When the wood looks dry, refresh it with a hardwax-oil maintenance product. Knots, sapwood edges and mineral streaks are natural walnut, not defects.
Before you order the Kurumi
The small table is 11.8 in (30 cm) high, so check it against your sofa seat if you'll use it there. Neither table has drawers or a shelf.
Ordering the Kurumi
We make each Kurumi table to order in our own factory. Production takes 6 to 10 weeks, and it reaches you about 10 to 18 weeks after you order.
Standard shipping is free across the contiguous United States, excluding remote areas. You have 90 days after receiving your order to request a return. Custom dimensions, custom finishes and special-order modifications are not eligible for return.
