Crafted exclusively from FAS-grade North American Black Walnut (Juglans nigra), sourced sustainably from the temperate forests of the Eastern United States. We reject veneers and stains. The rich, chocolate-brown hues you see are the wood’s authentic heartwood, interspersed with natural grain patterns—swirls, cathedrals, and bird pecks—that tell the tree’s century-long story. Finished with a premium matte hard-wax oil, the wood breathes, feeling warm to the touch and developing a lustrous amber patina over decades of use.

Analyzing the limitations of standard bookcases, we engineered the Ocular with a rare specification: an 18.7-inch depth. unlike shallow 10-inch shelves, this generous dimension allows you to display oversized coffee table books lying flat, house your turntable and vinyl collection, or showcase substantial ceramic vessels without overhang.
