At 12.6 in (32 cm) high, the Suiseki is a low walnut pebble coffee table. Its oval top is 43.3 in long and 23.6 in deep (110 × 60 cm).
Why we keep it low
We keep it low so it doesn't block your view of the TV. It also pairs with sofas of different seat heights.
Wedged tenons, ends on show
Where the rails meet the legs, we use wedged mortise-and-tenon joinery. The tenon ends come through and stay visible.
The legs are solid wood, 1.9 × 1.3 in (4.8 × 3.2 cm), joined by rails. The cross-rail base echoes a bamboo frame.
A symmetric oval top
The top is a symmetric oval, made from five or six wide walnut boards and 1.2 in (3 cm) thick. Its corners and edges are rounded.
Two solid-wood battens run across the underside to help keep the top flat.
Every wooden part is solid wood, and the walnut is solid American black walnut. It's Appalachian FAS-grade walnut, finished in hardwax oil. The shape has a mid-century feel.
Measure your sofa seat first
At 12.6 in (32 cm) high, it's low. Check it against your sofa seat if you want to reach a cup without leaning.
It has no drawers or shelves, and it comes in one size.
Care and ordering
Dust the wood with a soft dry cloth, and wipe spills promptly: the oil resists water but isn't waterproof.
Keep it indoors, with steady room humidity and out of long direct sun. Don't leave damp or corrosive things on the top, and skip strong cleaners.
When the wood looks dry, refresh it with a hardwax-oil maintenance product.
We make each Suiseki to order in our own factory. Production takes 6 to 10 weeks, and it reaches you about 10 to 18 weeks after you order. It arrives fully assembled.
