The Sylvan is a round walnut coffee table, 31.5 in (80 cm) across and 16.5 in (42 cm) high. It has two tiers: the tray-edged top and a round shelf underneath.

A tray edge for cups and plates

The top is set down inside a raised rim, like a tray. That rim keeps cups and plates from sliding off.

Two people can work at it at once: a laptop on one side, books or fruit on the other.

A round shelf below

Under the top there's a round shelf. The gap between the underside of the top and the shelf is 6.9 in (17.5 cm). The shelf adds storage without making the table any bigger.

Two flat legs, two turned legs

The base mixes two flat panel legs with two turned, vase-shaped legs, set on opposite sides. The turned legs give it a mid-century look.

We round every edge and corner, so there are no sharp corners.

Solid walnut and its care

Every wooden part is solid wood, and the walnut is solid American black walnut. It's Appalachian FAS-grade walnut, built with mortise-and-tenon joinery and finished in hardwax oil.

Dust the wood with a soft dry cloth, and wipe spills promptly: the oil resists water but isn't waterproof.

When the wood looks dry, refresh it with a hardwax-oil maintenance product. Knots, sapwood edges and mineral streaks are natural walnut, not defects.

Ordering the Sylvan

We make each Sylvan to order in our own factory. Production takes 6 to 10 weeks, and it reaches you about 10 to 18 weeks after you order. It needs some assembly: you attach the legs.

Standard shipping is free across the contiguous United States, excluding remote areas. You have 90 days after receiving your order to request a return. Custom dimensions, custom finishes and special-order modifications are not eligible for return.
