The letterform table

Seen from the side, Sylvan is a walnut Z: top stroke, angled spine, floor stroke. The geometry is the structure — angled load paths stiffen the table the way a truss stiffens a bridge, with no brackets to loosen.

The cane sling underneath

A hexagonal-weave rattan panel stretches inside the Z's angle, holding this week's magazines, the tablet, a slim throw. Cane keeps it visually light where a wood shelf would read heavy, and holds 15 lb without complaint.
