The Helios walnut bed frame is a King with a slab headboard made of up to five wide walnut boards. Under it, the slat deck sits at one of two heights.

A headboard from five boards

We edge-join the headboard from no more than five wide boards, so it reads as one slab of walnut. On the back, battens are fitted with mortise-and-tenon joinery, with no hardware on the headboard back.

The top edge is flat and solid, so a phone or a book set on it won't slip through. It's an edge, not a shelf.

Who it's not for

The Helios comes in King only. For a Queen, look at the Haven or the Estate.

There's 5.9 in (15 cm) clear under the side rails, enough for a robot vacuum. Check yours against that before you order.

It leaves no room for a baseboard, so it can't sit flush against the wall over one. It arrives in parts for assembly.

Set the deck high or low

The slat deck sits at 10.5 in (26.7 cm) or 12.2 in (31 cm) off the floor. The two settings suit mattresses from 6.3 to 10.2 in (16 to 26 cm) thick. A thin mattress goes on the higher setting, so you don't sleep too close to the floor.

Four legs, nothing in the middle

The frame stands on four legs, 1.8 × 3.0 in (45 × 75 mm), joined with mortise-and-tenon joinery. There are no extra legs in the middle.

Metal connectors lock the rails to the legs. Noise-damping strips sit at the joints.

Pine slats

The slats are solid pine, about 3.1 in (8 cm) wide, in a slat frame built with mortise-and-tenon joinery. Your mattress goes straight onto them, with no box spring.

Walnut and oil

The frame is solid American black walnut, and every wooden part is solid wood. It's Appalachian FAS-grade walnut, finished in hardwax oil.

Wipe spills promptly; the oil resists water but isn't waterproof. Knots and color shifts are part of black walnut, not defects.

Standard shipping is free across the contiguous United States, excluding remote areas. You have 90 days after receiving your order to request a return. Custom dimensions, custom finishes and special-order modifications are not eligible for return.
