Four swivel casters make Vantana a rolling walnut nightstand. It comes in two widths. Both stand 19.7 in (50 cm) tall.
Roll it, then lock it
Each of the four casters has its own brake. Release them and the Vantana rolls away from the bed when you vacuum. Lock them and it stays where you put it.
It also works beside a sofa in the living room.
Two widths, one height
The Compact is 11.8 in (30 cm) wide, our narrowest nightstand. If you need a narrow walnut nightstand for the gap between a bed and a wall, start there. The Grand is 15.7 in (40 cm) wide.
Both are 15.7 in (40 cm) deep at the base. The sides curve in an S as they rise, and the top is 10.2 in (26 cm) deep. We measure by hand, so allow about 1 cm either way.
Top, tray, drawer
A raised rail runs around the top, so a glass or your glasses are less likely to slide off. Below it is an open space 7.5 in (19 cm) tall, where you can keep a few books.
Under that, a tray pulls out when you need somewhere to set your phone. The drawer below opens on one brass knob and slides on solid-wood runners.
A hole for the cord, a slot for the power strip
A cable hole in the back panel takes the lamp cord. Beside it, a slot holds your power strip out of sight, so the phone charger plugs in right there.
Where it falls short
The top is only 10.2 in (26 cm) deep, and the Compact is 11.8 in (30 cm) wide overall. Choose a slim lamp: a wide lamp base and a stack of books won't both fit up there. For a bigger top, look at the Heritage, 19.7 × 15.0 in (50 × 38 cm) overall.
Walnut, made to order
Every wooden part is solid American black walnut. It's Appalachian FAS-grade walnut, built with mortise-and-tenon joinery and finished in hardwax oil. We sand every edge and corner round.
Expect pale sapwood edges and the odd mineral streak. Both are natural in black walnut.
Choose Compact or Grand, single or pair; a pair saves 10%. We make each Vantana to order. Production takes 6 to 10 weeks, and it's delivered fully assembled about 10 to 18 weeks after you order.
