Back and arms read as one piece on the Varen walnut dining armchair. The wide back curves in at the sides and carries on forward into the armrests.
Where the back turns into an arm
We steam-bend the back from solid wood, and it leans slightly back. It's wide, and it narrows in at each side before it reaches forward as an arm.
Where the back meets each arm, there's a finger joint, with the two pieces interlocking like fingers. The armrests are rounded and hold your forearms.
What this page doesn't say
We don't state the leather color here, so ask us before you order. We don't publish an arm height or a seat size either.
It measures 24.0 in (61 cm) across the arms, so check the space each chair gets at your table. For a narrower armchair, the Aro is 21.7 in (55 cm) wide.
At the table or at a desk
Overall it's 24.0 in wide, 22.0 in deep and 30.7 in tall (61 × 56 × 78 cm). The seat is 17.3 in (44 cm) off the floor.
It works as a dining chair or as a study chair. Every edge is sanded round and smooth.
Every wooden part is solid wood, and the walnut is solid American black walnut. It's Appalachian FAS-grade walnut, joined with mortise-and-tenon joinery and finished in hardwax oil. Wipe spills promptly.
