Alden Ridge is a walnut frame sofa you can walk all the way around. Solid walnut shows at the base, the arms and along the back, and it comes in three widths.

One rail, front to back

A round-ended walnut rail starts at the front of each arm. It runs back along the arm and then across the top of the back. Below it, solid walnut side panels close the arms.

The frame stands on a walnut platform base with round legs. It looks finished from every side, so it can stand away from a wall.

The shape comes from the ta, a Chinese daybed made for sitting or lying. The style is mid-century.

Three widths, one depth

The single is 43.3 in (110 cm) wide, the three-seater 86.6 in (220 cm) and the four-seater 98.4 in (250 cm). All three are 33.9 in (86 cm) deep and 34.6 in (88 cm) high.

The single and the sofas share one design, in the same three colors.

Herringbone chenille over foam

The upholstery is a chenille jacquard with a fine herringbone pattern. It comes in Wheat, Green and White, and the Green is chenille too.

The seat, the thick back cushions and the arm bolsters are high-density foam. The cushions lift out, and their covers come off. Under the cushions, the seat base is solid wood.

Walnut and oil care

Every wooden part is solid wood, and the frame is solid American black walnut. It's Appalachian FAS-grade walnut under a hardwax oil finish.

Dust the wood with a soft dry cloth, and wipe spills promptly: the oil resists water but isn't waterproof. Knots, sapwood edges and mineral streaks are natural walnut, not defects.

There may be a slight smell when you unpack it. Keep the room ventilated.

Before you order the Alden Ridge

Check the 33.9 in (86 cm) depth against your room before you order.

Screen colors can differ slightly from the real fabric.
