Rounded-rectangle tables are usually bentwood veneer pretending. Auren is carved from solid black walnut, its loop legs and soft corners shaped from real boards — the difference shows the first time you run a hand around it.

Auren's top is a rounded rectangle — straight sides for seating math, radiused corners that forgive hips and toddlers — carved from solid American black walnut, 1.57" thick. We measured it with a caliper on camera: 40 mm of real wood, no veneer, no MDF.

The loop legs

Each end stands on a continuous walnut loop — a closed rectangle of wood, rounded like the top it carries. Set well in from the ends, the loops leave the corners free: chairs at the head don't straddle anything, and a bench slides clean along each side.

Four lengths

55" seats 4–6, 63" seats 6, 71" seats 6–8, 79" seats 8 — depth grows with length (31.5" to 35.4"), all at 29.5" height. Approx. 140 lb of table; it stays where you put it.

Finish & everyday life

FAS-grade, FSC-certified walnut under a zero-VOC hard wax oil: grain you can feel, water that beads instead of soaking, scratches that sand out locally. It ages into a warm patina, not a worn-out topcoat.

That's the carving. The top is 1.57" of solid American black walnut — we measured it with a caliper in the product photos — and the rounded edge is shaped from the board, not bent veneer over a form.

Do the loop legs get in the way of chairs?

Less than normal legs do. The loops sit inboard from the ends, so the corners and the full length of each side stay clear — head chairs and benches both slide in without negotiating a post.

How many people fit at each size?

55" seats 4–6, 63" seats 6, 71" seats 6–8, 79" seats 8, counting about 24" per setting. The clear corners make the in-between numbers workable.
