The Cairn is a sculptural rocking chair in solid American black walnut, 27.2 in (69 cm) wide and 33.1 in (84 cm) high. It rocks about 10° forward and 8° back.

Curves cut by CNC

The frame and runners run in continuous curves. Each part is shaped by CNC, and the parts are joined with mortise-and-tenon joinery.

Branch-like walnut supports hold the two rounded back cushions.

Wool over foam and metal

The seat and back are molded foam over a metal inner frame. They're covered in 100% wool fabric.

Choose The Moss & Lichen, a green, or The Sandstone, a beige.

Fabric care

For spots on the wool, wipe with a damp towel or a soft brush dipped in clean water. Then let it air-dry somewhere ventilated. Take large stains to a professional dry cleaner.

Walnut and moving it

Lift the chair to move it; don't drag it. Keep it on a level floor, away from dirt, insects, damp and direct sun.

Dust the wood with a soft dry cloth, and wipe spills promptly: the oil resists water but isn't waterproof. Refresh it with a hardwax-oil maintenance product.

Knots, sapwood edges and mineral streaks are natural walnut, not defects.

Every wooden part is solid wood. It's Appalachian FAS-grade walnut under a hardwax oil finish.

We make each Cairn to order. Production takes 6 to 10 weeks, and it reaches you about 10 to 18 weeks after you order. It arrives fully assembled.

Standard shipping is free across the contiguous United States, excluding remote areas. You have 90 days after receiving your order to request a return. Custom dimensions, custom finishes and special-order modifications are not eligible for return.
