A silent rock, by design

Rocking chairs squeak when their joints are fastened with hardware that works loose under the constant motion. Cairn is built the opposite way: its runners flow into the frame as one continuous sculptural loop of solid American black walnut, wood joined to wood, so the rock stays silent for years instead of announcing itself. It is a piece of sculpture that happens to rock.

Cushioned for real lounging

The seat is a plush wool-blend performance boucle over high-resilience multi-density foam with a Dacron wrap — soft to sink into, structured enough to hold its shape. Seat height is a lounge-friendly 18", and the whole chair is rated to 350 lb. We name the boucle as the fabric it is over the solid-walnut frame.

Delivered ready

It arrives essentially assembled with only minimal rail attachment; white-glove delivery is recommended for a sculptural piece this considered.
