The Estate dining table stands on forked walnut legs at its two ends, with no apron. It has a mid-century feel.
Two forks, set at 65°
At each end, a forked pair of solid walnut legs splays outward at 65° from a curved support under the top. Each leg is about 1.6 in (40 mm) thick.
The top, the legs and the cross rail are walnut.
Long sides with nothing in the way
There's no apron, and the legs stand at the ends. So the long sides have no legs, and a bench or chairs fit along them.
A thick top from wide boards
We glue the top up from 6 to 8 wide boards. It's at least 1.6 in (4 cm) thick.
Every wooden part is solid wood, and the walnut is solid American black walnut. It's Appalachian FAS-grade walnut, finished in hardwax oil.
Three lengths, one depth
The Estate comes 55.1, 63.0 or 70.9 in long (140, 160 or 180 cm). Every length is 33.5 in (85 cm) deep and 29.5 in (75 cm) tall.
The 70.9 in (180 cm) table takes 4 to 6 chairs. We don't give a count for the two shorter lengths.
Sun, heat and spills
Keep it out of long, strong sunlight, and at least 5 ft (1.5 m) from AC vents and heaters. Keep the room's humidity steady.
Use a heat pad under hot dishes, and wipe up water and other spills promptly. The oil resists water but isn't waterproof.
Color shifts, knots, mineral lines and sapwood edges are natural walnut traits, not defects.
How the Estate arrives
It needs some assembly on arrival. We make each Estate to order. Production takes 6 to 10 weeks, and it reaches you about 10 to 18 weeks after you order.
Standard shipping is free across the contiguous United States, excluding remote areas. You have 90 days after receiving your order to request a return. Custom dimensions, custom finishes and special-order modifications are not eligible for return.
