No legs at the corners

Two solid walnut pedestal panels hold the top, set well in from the ends. Every seat along the sides is leg-free, a bench slides clean underneath, and the person at the head isn't wrapped around a corner post. Each panel is pierced by a long oval cutout — a handhold of light that keeps the mass from reading heavy.

Four lengths: 55" seats 4–6, 63" seats 6, 71" seats 6–8, 79" seats 8. Two depths — 31.5" or 33.5" — depending on how much middle-of-table real estate your dinners need. Every corner of the top is rounded: kinder to hips in tight rooms and to toddlers at head height.

Solid walnut, serious mass

FAS-grade, FSC-certified American black walnut, approx. 200 lb of it — solid boards joined with mortise-and-tenon work, no veneer, no MDF. The slim eased edge keeps all that mass looking light from the chair.

Finish & everyday life

Zero-VOC hard wax oil: grain you can feel, scratches you can fix with a light sand and a wipe of oil. No full refinish, no panic over forks. The color warms into a patina over the years.

Ordering & delivery

That's what the double pedestal is for — no corner legs means a bench slides completely under the top between the panels, and sitting down is a slide, not a climb-over.
