Leather behind you and fabric under you: the Opus walnut dining chair uses two materials. The frame around them is solid walnut, on legs that splay slightly.
Which part is leather
The seat is fabric, not leather: a linen-blend cushion over high-resilience foam. Only the back sling is genuine leather.
If you want a leather seat, the Opus isn't that chair. The Varen has a genuine leather seat pad, and it has arms.
It comes as a single chair or a pair, with no larger sets.
A leather sling for a back
The back is a sling of fine-grain saddle leather. It wraps over the tops of the two rear posts, and the seams are stitched.
The sling leans slightly back. We round every wood edge.
Legs, stretchers and size
The solid walnut legs splay slightly outward. There are stretchers along both sides, plus a cross stretcher.
The chair is 19.5 in wide, 20.3 in deep and 31.5 in tall (49.5 × 51.5 × 80 cm). The seat cushion is 19.3 × 20.1 in (49 × 51 cm), 17.7 in (45 cm) off the floor. With no arms, it tucks under the table.
We make every wooden part from solid wood, and the walnut is solid American black walnut. It's Appalachian FAS-grade walnut, finished in hardwax oil.
