The Rowan is a round walnut pedestal dining table on a single cone of solid wood. There are no corner legs.

One cone, nothing at the rim

We build the base as one cone-shaped pedestal of solid wood. On the 59.1 in (150 cm) table, the cone is 23.6 in (60 cm) across where it meets the floor.

With no legs at the edge, you don't have to line chairs up between posts. The underside of the top is 28.1 in (71.5 cm) off the floor, so check your chair arms against that.

Steel under the top, and why

Three solid stainless steel bars are set into the underside of the top. They help keep it flat.

The top is 1.1 in (2.8 cm) thick, glued up from wide boards matched for color and grain. Its edge is bevelled underneath.

Pick the size by who sits down

Both sizes stand 29.5 in (75 cm) tall, at 53.1 in (135 cm) or 59.1 in (150 cm) across. The 59.1 in (150 cm) table seats 6 to 10.

We don't give a seat count for the 53.1 in (135 cm) table. Set your chairs out on the floor at that size before you order.

Some photos show a lazy Susan on the top. It isn't part of this listing.

Assembly and the first days

The Rowan needs some assembly when it arrives, and we include instructions.

There may be a slight smell when you unpack it. Keep the room ventilated.

Don't cover the top with film or a sheet of glass. The wood needs to breathe.

Walnut, oil and everyday care

Every wooden part is solid wood, and the walnut is solid American black walnut. It's Appalachian FAS-grade walnut under a hardwax oil finish.

The oil resists water but isn't waterproof, so wipe spills promptly. Put a coaster or trivet under anything hot or wet.

Knots, pale sapwood edges and mineral streaks are natural walnut traits, not defects.

Ordering the Rowan

We make every Rowan to order. Production takes 6 to 10 weeks, and it reaches you about 10 to 18 weeks after you order.

Standard shipping is free across the contiguous United States, excluding remote areas. You have 90 days after receiving your order to request a return. Custom dimensions, custom finishes and special-order modifications are not eligible for return.
