A curved back panel and a solid walnut seat make up the Soren walnut dining chair. The seat sits 17.1 in (43.5 cm) off the floor.
A curved back panel
The back is one curved panel.
The legs splay slightly, and we sand the chair by hand. It's all wood, with no upholstery.
Seat, size and wood
The seat is 17.7 × 17.7 in (45 × 45 cm), 17.1 in (43.5 cm) off the floor. Overall the chair is 17.7 in wide, 20.5 in deep and 30.7 in tall (45 × 52 × 78 cm). It has no arms, so it tucks under the table.
Every wooden part is solid wood, and the walnut is solid American black walnut. It's Appalachian FAS-grade walnut, joined with mortise-and-tenon joinery and finished in hardwax oil.
Knots and color shifts are part of black walnut, not defects. Wipe spills promptly: the oil resists water but isn't waterproof.
Check the seat height first
At 17.1 in (43.5 cm), check the seat against your table before you order. The Marlowe sits higher, at 18.1 in (46 cm).
There's no cushion. If you want padding, the Lior and the Eron both have upholstered seats.
