The Sylvan walnut dining chair has a padded back cushion, held off its walnut posts on brass rods. The seat tilts slightly back.
A back on brass rods
The back cushion is 19.3 in (49 cm) wide. Brass rods hold it off the two back posts, so it sits clear of the wood.
The legs are spindle-shaped, with a triangular brace under the seat.
Which upholstery you get
The black option is microfiber leather, a synthetic. It isn't genuine leather, even though the option is labelled Black Leather.
Custom colors are offered too; ask us about the material for the color you want.
For genuine top-grain leather, the Oryn and the Helios have it on the seat.
A wide seat
The seat is 20.1 in wide and 18.5 in deep (51 × 47 cm), at 17.7 in (45 cm) high. It's the widest part of the chair.
High-density foam fills the cushion. Under it, the seat base is solid wood.
Frame, finish and care
The frame is solid American black walnut, and every wooden part is solid wood. It's Appalachian FAS-grade walnut with mortise-and-tenon joinery. The seat is fixed on with screws.
We finish the walnut in hardwax oil. It resists water but isn't waterproof, so wipe spills promptly. Grain and color vary between boards; that's black walnut, not a defect.
