The Heritage is a slanted headboard bed: its wide-plank walnut headboard reclines to 95°. You can set it at two heights. The legs are set in under the frame, which gives the bed a floating look.
Why the headboard leans back
At 95°, the headboard tips five degrees past upright. Sit up against it with a pillow and your back follows the boards.
We edge-join it from wide planks, matched by color and grain. Its top edge holds a phone or a book.
Two heights for the headboard
The headboard sets at 37.0 in (94 cm) or 41.3 in (105 cm) to the top. The two settings suit different mattress heights. With a thick mattress, the higher one leaves more headboard to lean on.
What to check first
We don't publish an under-bed clearance for the Heritage. If a robot vacuum matters, the Haven has 7.1 in (18 cm) under its rails.
The top edge takes small things, but it isn't a shelf. For a real ledge, the Haven has one 2.0 in (5 cm) deep.
The frame is 84.4 in (214.5 cm) long. Measure your room before you order.
Six legs and a keel
Six legs carry the frame, with a keel down the middle. The center legs have adjustable foot pads for uneven floors. The two front legs are walnut, and the hidden supports are solid wood.
The solid pine slats run lengthwise and are screwed to the head and foot rails. That helps stop the bed rocking front to back. The mattress sits on them directly, so you don't need a box spring.
Room for the baseboard
The headboard sticks out at the back. That leaves room for a baseboard, so the bed can go right against the wall. The mattress sits inside the frame rails, which keeps it in place.
Corners and edges are rounded.
Solid walnut, finished in oil
The frame is solid American black walnut, and every wooden part is solid wood. It's Appalachian FAS-grade walnut with mortise-and-tenon joinery, kiln-dried to 8 to 10% moisture.
We finish it in hardwax oil. Wipe spills promptly, since the oil resists water but isn't waterproof. A slight smell on unpacking is normal; keep the room aired.
Color shifts and knots are part of black walnut, not defects.
