The floating back

Taren's wide, curved back panel is pinned between two posts that double as the arm supports — it meets your back with a slight give of geometry, not hardware. The arms run level from those posts straight into the front legs.

The sit

The solid seat is saddle-carved — higher at the edges, dished in the middle — so weight spreads instead of pressing. At 28.7" overall it's our lowest-profile armchair: it tucks under most aprons and disappears below sight lines in open rooms.

Solid walnut, honestly finished

All members are solid American black walnut, FAS-grade and FSC-certified, joined with mortise-and-tenon work and finished in zero-VOC hard wax oil. It arrives ready to use.

Why is the overall height so low?

By design — at 28.7" the back stays below most sight lines and the arms slide under most table aprons, which is exactly what open-plan rooms and low tables want from an armchair.
